LobWedge Research — S&P 500 (ES) & Market Analysis

Finding footing.

Sunday we wrote that a falling market with a rising score is the buy signal. Three days later, the score is rising. The proof isn't on the board yet.

A lot of new readers since Sunday’s issue went out free. Welcome. Wednesday is the update: shorter than Sunday, focused on what changed and what didn’t. If it earns a spot in your week, the full plan below is what subscribers get twice a week. And if you’re building something adjacent to this work, reply. Open to connecting.

Sunday’s plan was called “Defense first.” It said: sell the first bounce at mapped supply, don’t buy a level that’s being run, and let the reload zones come to us with conditions attached. Monday bounced. Tuesday carried the bounce into the old gap shelf at our value roof, stopped seven points above it, and fell 244 points off that high. Wednesday added a hot inflation print and another round of US-Iran strikes, settled at 7,278.50, and the overnight session printed 7,235 before bouncing 65 points off that shelf, 7,300 as we publish.

That’s the surface. Underneath, the average stock has outperformed the index five sessions running, and the institutions that move real size spent Wednesday’s flush buying stock, not selling it. Price is falling and the structure under it is improving. We wrote Sunday that this sequence, a rising score against a falling market, is what the start of a buyable low looks like.

The Lie: -2 RECOVERING. Was -4 Sunday.

The chart above is the week graded against Sunday’s plan, hits and misses both. It traded both ways: 244 points off the roof on the short side, and every reload shelf has paid a bounce on its first touch.

Below the fold: the level-by-level scorecard, the updated game plan with the two entries that matter, what Oracle’s selloff actually said, and the two studies that frame the rest of this week.
